Straight answers
The questions we get on every site walk — answered the way we'd answer them standing on your slab.
01How fast can you bid my project?+
We walk the site, confirm scope and specs, and deliver a detailed written bid within 72 hours. Every bid is line-item priced and reviewed personally by the owner — no vague allowances.
02How much does concrete cost?+
It depends on square footage, thickness, mix design, reinforcement, site access, and finish — which is why we bid from a site walk instead of guessing over the phone. Your written bid breaks the price into line items so you can see exactly where every dollar goes.
03When can I walk or drive on new concrete?+
Foot traffic is fine at about 24–48 hours. Keep vehicles off a new driveway for at least 7 days, when the slab reaches roughly 70% of its design strength. Full design strength arrives at 28 days — concrete cures, it doesn't dry, and we never rush that clock.
04Will my concrete crack?+
Honest answer: all concrete moves, and no contractor can truthfully promise a slab will never show a crack — it's a natural material responding to soil, temperature, and time. What we can promise is that we do everything best practice allows to control it: properly compacted base, the right mix, saw-cut control joints placed on time and in an engineered layout to direct movement where it belongs, and protected curing. That's how we keep slabs looking clean for decades — and it's why ours do.
05Rebar or wire mesh — which do I need?+
For most residential flatwork we place #3 rebar on 16-inch centers, chaired to sit mid-slab where it actually works. Mesh is cheaper but usually ends up on the ground instead of in the concrete. Commercial and structural scopes get engineered steel layouts matched to their loads.
06What PSI concrete do I need?+
Typical residential flatwork runs 3,000 PSI. Commercial slabs and foundations run 4,000–5,000 PSI depending on the loads they'll carry. Your bid states the exact mix design — and that's what gets batched, verified on the ticket at the truck.
07Do you handle permits and inspections?+
Yes. Permits, inspections, and any licensed MEP trade work run through our general contracting arm, Aggieland Contracting — same owner, same standard. You deal with one company either way.
08Can you do stamped or decorative finishes?+
Absolutely — stamped patterns like ashlar, flagstone, and wood plank, plus integral color, release accents, penetrating stains, and polished finishes. Decorative work gets the same structural slab underneath; the finish is the last 10%, not a substitute for the first 90%.
09Do you take small jobs?+
We bid small residential scopes — walkways, patios, aprons — alongside commercial work whenever the schedule allows. The minimum that makes sense varies with season and crew load, so the honest answer is: call, and we'll tell you straight.
10What areas do you serve?+
We're based in Bryan / College Station and serve the Brazos Valley — Bryan, College Station, and the surrounding communities.
